Offering a simple and delicious menu, some seriously good coffee and a friendly team – all served in a trendy setting.
Inspired by the coffee scene in Australia, The Goat Herder brings the same relaxed urban vibe to Budapest - serving up the perfect combination of speciality coffee, tasty food, fresh juices, funky sounds and fun conversation.
Coffee Philosophy
Kávé filozófiánk
Influenced by the espresso bars in Australia and the speciality coffee movement in Europe, we have found a local roaster who is passionate about his craft. We have chosen to gently roast our beans to preserve as much of the natural flavours as possible, yet still retaining good body and depth.
We've carefully selected the following sizes to ensure the ideal combination of milk to coffee ratio:
- Cortado (aka 'piccolo') is served in a 3 oz glass
- Flat White is served in a 5 oz cup
- Cappuccino, Long Black and Hot Chocolate are served in a 6 oz cup
- Latte is served in a 7.7 oz glass
All of our take away drinks are served in an 8 oz cup for extra wiggle room.

The team
A csapat
“A smile is a curve that sets everything straight” - Phyllis Diller.
With this in mind, our team has been carefully selected. Fun and energetic personalities that have come together to create a unique espresso bar. We've worked to source the best ingredients, the highest quality coffee beans and to create a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
What's in a name
A név legendája
Legend has it that Kaldi, an Ethiopian goat herder in the 9th century, discovered coffee after seeing the stimulating effect that the beans had on his goats. While the variety of beans, blends and brewing methods have changed significantly – our espresso bar name pays homage to Kaldi for providing the world with this delicious drink.
Being green
Zöldek vagyunk
Conscious of the impact that take away cups and food packaging is having on our environment, we've selected a company that provides eco friendly items. All of our packaging is made from either bioplastics (made from plants, in this case cornstarch - these plastics are biodegradable and compostable) or paper (made from recycled paper and sustainable forest paper). We also sell reusable KeepCups.
